Over half of those who provide wedding services abroad said that it’s the paperwork that often causes the most problems for couples.

Always check the legalities of where you’re going to marry and make sure you address them with your wedding planner.

Being Forgetful

It may seem ridiculous but many couples have trouble remembering what they need to bring with them when marrying abroad.

Wedding providers abroad said that the most forgotten things were sunscreen followed by the wedding speeches – oh dear!

Weather

Despite the weather abroad being a lot more promising that it is in England, people still incur weather problems when marrying abroad.

Just over 35 per cent of wedding providers from abroad said that the weather did affect weddings, but only on rare occasions.

Travel Delays

Although most means of travel are pretty reliable now, 20 per cent of wedding providers cited travel as a worry for couples.

The best thing to do is the make sure you get to your destination in plenty of time for your wedding, arriving a few days before.

Cancellations

Thankfully, cancellations are very rare when getting married abroad, with only 5 per cent of wedding providers saying that they’ve experienced cancellations.

They found that if weddings were cancelled, over 90 per cent of them were done three months beforehand so there was plenty of time to rectify the situation.
