It seems female body confidence is at an all time low, with four in five women saying they wish they had more, according to new research.

The biggest worry is weight, and most women admit they are their own worst enemy, with more than a third saying they are the most likely to knock their own confidence by having negative thoughts and judging themselves too harshly.

The research, commissioned by Seven Seas Health Oils, reveals thirty per cent feel their confidence has been wrecked by not being able to do up their jeans.

One in three feels having a ‘muffin top’ hanging over their trousers affects their self-esteem.

One in twenty women goes as far as admitting  they prefer to have unattractive friends as it makes them feel better about themselves and a fifth of women say they would feel more confident if they were better looking than their partner.

As a woman facing constant pressure in the public eye, television personality Rachel Stevens knows what it is like to feel body conscious. In this video she reveals how she keeps her confidence high
