Firefighters were called out to a house in Northamptonshire on Tuesday (04.05.21) to rescue the moggy, named Flea, that had been missing for more than a week.

Flea's owner Freya Hill explained how the dog drew the attention of people living at the property and said that the cat acted as if "nothing happened" after she was lifted to safety.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service explained that the cat "had managed to climb onto a small ledge" despite there being a foot of water at the bottom of the well.

The animal was enticed off the ledge with cat food.

Hill told the BBC: "She's definitely trying to use up one of her nine lives.

"I'm so grateful and thankful to the firefighters who all carried out such a brilliant and amazing job."
