Nam Vo has faced backlash for starting the popular trend which sees celebs such as Gigi and Bella Hadid pose with one hand on the side of their temple mimicking a migraine.

Speaking to Elle Magazine, Nam explained why she encourages her clients to show off their best migraine poses, saying she loves it ''because the beauty of your hands frame the face and give it more structure''.

Nam - whose A-list cliental includes Kylie Jenner - added: ''It's also a great time to show off your manicure.''

However, many believed the pose mocked the seriousness of migraines and was inappropriate resulting in them to threaten to boycott the LA-based MUA.

Forced to apologise on Instagram, Nam responded: ''Hi my Dewey Dumplings, my apologies. This wasn't meant to be offensive or hurt anyone's feelings.

''I am touched by the personal stories that you have all shared. I love all my Dumplings and want you all to be happy and healthy! It's all about the LOVE! (sic)''
