Track coach Dylan Sorensen first set the record in May by running a mile in four minutes and 37 seconds while dribbling a basketball, but his record was eclipsed a number of times in the following months.

Sorensen was determined to claim the record for himself once again and did so in four minutes and 33.73 seconds, narrowly beating the previous benchmark.

Dylan is expecting his record to be broken once more and revealed that he would be keen to have another attempt to improve his time.

He told Runners World: "Records are meant to be broken. If I find a good reason, I wouldn’t say no to doing it again. Given my pacing strategy, if I tighten that up, I don’t think I’ll need to get any better to run it faster."
