A Cornwall man has made a pasty the same size and weight of his newborn son.

Tim Fuge took 19 hours to eat the 2.8kg beef pasty in honour of the birth of his son Jowan and admitted it was a struggle fitting the snack on a baking tray.

He said: ''I added all the ingredients on the scale and it came out bang up to how much the baby weighed when he was born.''

The Cornish pasty is estimated to have up to 4,000 calories and is 50cm in diameter - the same length as two-week-old Jowan.

Tim only made the snack for the first time last week amid the coronavirus lockdown.

He explained: ''That was exactly the same but a bit more of a modest size. We just decided to make pasties because our favourite pasty shops (had) shut.''
