Katt Williams had to replace a family's pet recently after his bodyguard shot and killed a dog during a tour stop in Arizona.
The Norbit star was passing through the state last month when he stopped at a fast food chain for a quick bite.
While Williams was inside, one of his bodyguards opened fire on a retired police dog named Lester after it bit him in the parking lot after running free from its owners during a walk.
And when the funnyman/actor came outside, he felt so sorry for the devastated owners of the German shepherd, he ran inside his tourbus and gave the family his own eight-week-old mastiff puppy as a replacement.
He then told the family that he would fire the bodyguard.
The parents seemed more than happy with the resolution and even posed for a picture with Williams.
A spokesperson for the family tells TMZ.com: "They're devastated right now and the new puppy can't replace Lester. However, they are happy Katt stepped up and took responsibility."
Williams was interviewed by police, and was co-operative. No charges have been filed against the bodyguard.
