The 'Total Recall' star insists he wouldn't be embarrassed to use dating sites like the popular app to find love and declared "f**k" the naysayers.

In an interview with website The Daily Beast: "I have friends who have met people on dating sites who have had really good relationships, and that's great. F**k anyone else who says that's bulls**t."

The 39-year-old actor - who has sons, James, 12, from a relationship with Kim Bordenave, and six-year-old Henry, from a short romance with Alicja Bachleda-Curuś - hasn't had a serious girlfriend in almost five years but is considered one of the hottest men in Hollywood.

And the star hinted he is considering a more mature way of hooking up the opposite the sex.

The 'True Detective' star said: "Why is it a bastion of honesty and sharing of truth to chat someone up at 6am in a club with a belly full of Jack Daniels? That's not exactly the real you either."

Other celebrities looking for love who have joined Tinder include Hilary Duff, who previously declared the dating app was "cool".

The 'All About You' hitmaker - who recently filed for divorce from Mike Comrie following their split early last year - had her first face-to-face meeting with a guy she got in contact with via the dating app earlier this year and they had a fun time.

She said: "We went bowling so we didn't have to talk too much, but we did talk a lot actually.

And Carly Rae Jepsen revealed she wants to start her own Tinder dating advice business.

The 30-year-old pop star believes she would make a fantastic romance guru and is keen to kick-start her own company aimed at helping clueless men win over girls on the dating app.

She said: "I have a business I want to start up ... You know the dating site Tinder, I want to take hold of men's Tinders and show them the pictures they should be using instead of the ones that they are. I would charge a small fee and I'd tell them what to write."

But Selena Gomez isn't convinced.

The brunette beauty - who previously dated Justin Bieber and producer Zedd - insists she would never use the dating app and doesn't really need to as she doesn't find it "difficult" to meet guys.

She said: "I would never go on Tinder! I think it would scare me. I go on dates. It's not that difficult--I'm a nice young lady [laughs]--but that's not my focus. I'm really stoked about being with myself right now."
