Beyonce recently released two country music songs

The award-winning star recently launched two new country music songs - 'Texas Hold 'Em' and '16 Carriages' - and Maren is impressed that Beyonce, 42, is able to make such a seamless transition between different musical genres.

Maren, 33, told E! News: "I feel like she's always been genre-less, but I think the leaning into country elements and sort of reclaiming country music back to black people because they created the genre is such a statement.

"Rhiannon Giddens playing banjo on 'Texas Hold ‘Em', which is such an amazing statement in itself."

Beyonce is set to release a new album on March 29, and Maren can't wait to hear the record.

The singer - whose music is largely rooted in the country genre - said: "Obviously, like most people, I'm so utterly excited to hear the whole album. I was listening to ‘16 Carriages' this morning and just marvelling at the production and the lyrics and the vulnerability."

Beyonce first shot to stardom as part of Destiny's Child, the chart-topping girl group, in the 90s.

The group haven't released an album since 'Destiny Fulfilled' in 2004 - but Kelly Rowland, Beyonce's former bandmate, recently revealed that the group all remain hugely supportive of each other and their solo ventures.

Speaking to ELLE magazine, Kelly explained: "So many women say, 'Oh my god, I love your relationship with the girls' ... and it's because we all genuinely want to see each other be great and go after things that we're passionate about. And if we feel like one [of us] needs a little push, we do that, whether they're ready for it or not. It's about being there and making sure they push themselves.

"You have to be able to have that honesty, love and admiration for each other. I think that female tribes are crucial to life, to everything."
