The 41-year-old actor was a huge fan of the fantasy drama series and had agreed to help a young hopeful prepare for an audition to play the doomed Red Viper.

However, once he read the script, he waited until his pal had left the room and texted his manager to urge him to secure him an audition of his own.

He admitted to 'Late Night' host Seth Meyers: "I was a mentor to a graduate. HIs first audition on tape he wanted my help with, it's like 17 pages for a role for 'Game of Thrones'.

"He's, like, a 25-year old kid--really, really talented, good looking--and I'm helping him go on tape for this new, amazing role.

"He'd never seen the show; I was a huge fan. And I'm reading the sides and I'm like, 'This is amazing.' [The character is] in his late 30s, he has daughters, he's a sl*t. I was like, 'This is perfect! For me...'

"He goes to the bathroom, and I text my manager right away. It's terrible."

And Pedro admitted he thinks he should make amends with the younger actor.

Asked how their relationship is now, he shook his head and said: "I should WhatsApp him after this is over. I can be like, 'I finally came clean, man!' "

Once Pedro had taped his own audition, he relied on help from a friend, 'American Horror Story' actress Sarah Paulson, to ensure it was seen by the right people.

He explained: "I taped an audition on my iPhone, I was an unknown and nobody was going to see it. So I called Sarah Paulson, a friend of mine since I was 18, and she is very good friends with Amanda Peet, who's married to ('GoT' showrunner) David Benioff, and I said, 'I just put myself on tape but I don't think anyone is going to see it...'

"She didn't even let me finish my sentence--she was like, 'You send me that tape right now!'

"Her and Amanda watched it and showed it to David and Dan, D.B. Weiss, that night, before my agent had even seen that tape."
