Steve Carell found Will Ferrell "almost impossible" to work with because he's so funny.

The 51-year-old actor didn't hesitate to sign up for 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues' as he had the "best fun" ever working on the original movie in 2004, but struggled to keep his composure while filming some of the hilarious scenes.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the premiere of the new comedy at The Odeon in London's Leicester Square tonight (11.12.13), the former 'The Office' USA star said: "There's a scene we did in a lighthouse with Ron and it's probably the scene I laughed the hardest at.

"Will was so especially funny that day, it was almost impossible to get it [the scene] done."

He added: "It was the best fun I've had. None of us questioned going back to make this film."

Steve, who has two children, Elizabeth, 12, and John, nine, with his wife Nancy Walls, credited his family for helping him to stay grounded despite his success.

He said: "My children have watched the original but they don't really think of me as an actor, they just see me as Dad."

Other stars that walked the burgundy carpet included Will, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Olly Murs, James Corden and the cast of 'Made in Chelsea'.

Actor David Koechner, who plays Champ Kind, said filming the sequel was a "remarkable experience."

He said: "We just enjoy each other's company, I thought the script was amazing when I first read it.

"Every day getting to play with these guys and work, get back together, it was a truly remarkable experience.

"Will's an amazing guy, he's so super funny. These guys always write amazing comedy."

He added: "It's a bit weirder than a lot of stuff but people respond to it."
