Taylor Swift’s team have hit back after the singer’s dad was accused of assaulting a paparazzo.
The 34-year-old ‘Bad Blood’ singer’s was with her father Scott Swift, 71, in Australia early on Tuesday (27.02.24) when he allegedly hit a photographer at a Sydney ferry wharf as his daughter was getting off a yacht.
After police confirmed the area had been the scene of a bust-up, Taylor’s camp have now said it was the result of two people acting “aggressively”.
They said in a statement: “Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water.”
Local police from the New South Wales force confirmed a 71-year-old man – who they did not name – allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf at about 2.30am.
Cops added the alleged victim, who reported the incident, did not require any medical treatment.
The photographer also said he didn’t understand what prompted the alleged outburst, telling News.com.au: “It was a shock… there was no need for it, the security had it under control.
“I’ll leave it in the police’s hands now.”
Taylor wrapped up her final ‘Eras Tour’ performance in Sydney on Monday (26.02.24) after more than 600,000 tickets were sold to her seven shows in Melbourne and Sydney, including three sold-out shows at the Melbourne Cricket Ground with a record audience of 96,000 fans flocking there every night of the gigs.
Among them was her Super Bowl-winning NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce, 34, who travelled from America to Australia to support her.
