During a drugs raid, Bent cops of Boston Police Department Nick Walker (Reynolds) and Bobby Hayes (Kevin Bacon) steal a chest of gold to better their lives, however Nick has a change of heart, and decides to hand the gold back in.

Soon after, during a police shootout at a warehouse, Nick hits the floor after a sea of gunshot fire and it seems his time as a detective is tragically cut short.

As Nick rises out of his deceased body and spins through the sky on his way to the afterlife, he wakes up in a white room face-to-face with stern and sarcastic Mildred Proctor (Mary-Louise Parker - RED).

Here, she reveals that Nick has been chosen to join the Rest In Peace Department (R.I.P.D.), the greatest police force ever assembled, from the spirits of the greatest cops that ever lived.

Acting as an invisible guardian, to ensure that the dead stay dead, Nick must patrol and protect the world below from the ‘Deados,’ a destructive army of creatures who refuse to move peacefully to the afterlife.

Nick accepts the challenge and joins Roy Pulsipher (Bridges), a grouchy but skilful ex-U.S. Marshal from way back in the 1800s.

As the job begins, the cops are assigned identity disguises, so that they can appear on earth as living humans. The results are hilarious, as Nick is transformed to a frail old Chinese man, Jerry Chen, whilst Roy is seen as a drop-dead gorgeous leggy blonde, under the name of Opal Povlenko.

The story continues as the pair embrace their task and revel in R.I.P.D. action and adventure, roaming the streets of Boston with crazy weapons, including the incredibly unlikely Cumin spice, set to take down the ‘Deados’.

With big laughs, big monsters, and even bigger guns, indulge in the 3D action and fast-paced fun of R.I.P.D. as it is released on 2-disc 2D and 3D Blu-ray - and DVD - both with UltraViolet, from 20th January 2014.
