Chuck Norris, actor is suing author Ian Spector and his publisher for exploiting his celebrity with their new release The Truth About Chuck Norris: 400 Facts About The World's Greatest Human.The Penguin-published novel is based on a satirical list of 'mythical facts' about the star that has been circulating the internet since 2005.The book includes 'facts' like, "Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits", and "Chuck Norris's tears cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried" - but the martial arts legend is claiming trademark infringement and alleges that some of the statements are highly damaging to his career.The lawsuit, which was filed in Manhattan's federal court in New York earlier this week (begs17Dec07), reads: "Some of the 'facts' in the book are racist, lewd or portray Mr. Norris as engaged in illegal activities. "...(The) defendants have misappropriated and exploited Mr. Norris' name and likeness without authorisation for their own commercial profit."The 67-year-old Missing In Action star - real name Carlos Ray Norris - is seeking unspecified monetary damages for trademark infringement, unjust enrichment and privacy rights.
