Dustin Lance Black has apologised for the intimate pictures leaked online on Friday (12Jun09) - which showed the Milk screenwriter having unprotected gay sex.
Photo agency Starzlife obtained the scandalous snaps featuring the gay writer/director having intercourse.
And as news about a possible sex tape surfaces, Black has released a statement urging people not to have sex without a condom.
He says, "It is unfortunate that individuals and other outside parties are trying to profit from material which is clearly private.
"I have had the privilege to speak to people across the country, both gay and straight, on a number of critical issues including safe sex.
"More important than the embarrassment of this incident is the misleading message these images send. I apologize and cannot emphasise enough the importance of responsible sexual practises."
