‘Tis the season! ...For drinking far too much alcohol and making regrettable decisions. It’s ok - we’ve all been there. In fact, more than you’d probably think!

Has your phone screen survived the festivities so far?

Has your phone screen survived the festivities so far?

A recent survey has found that Brits are terrible at keeping it together after a few too many beverages.

Last year, almost one quarter of us broke a phone during last year’s Christmas festivities, with women being most likely to have a handset disaster.

Other regrettable moments revealed included drunken injuries, appearing in embarrassing photos and even kissing a colleague.

In fact, the following were revealed to be the top ten party disasters:

1.      Broken mobile phone – 24% (said this happened to them last Christmas party season)

2.      Drunken injuries – 22%

3.     Lost wallet/money – 20%

4.      Appeared in compromising/embarrassing photos on social media – 18%

5.      Kissing a colleague – 16%

6.      Lost mobile phone – 10%

7.      Saying something out of line – 11%

8.      Throwing up on someone – 9%

9.      Quitting your job – 3%

Jack Webster, mobile expert from www.sellmymobile.com, said:

“It’s the season of over-indulgence and most of us have woken up the morning after a Christmas party with one or two regrets.

“Breaking your phone, especially when they cost so much, is problem and an expense enough to kill any festive cheer but is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to mishaps, as unlike those compromising shots of you and your colleague, there are quick ways to fix it or replace it.

“If you do use it as a time to upgrade to a new handset, then don’t forget to recycle your old one. Even broken phones can be worth enough to get another Christmas round… or a phone cover.”

The research was carried out by www.sellmymobile.com and included more the 3,000 smartphone owners from around the UK.
