Food Glorious Food

Every part of food shopping needs to be planned with precision, when you are going, what you are buying and your budget.

Aim to get out as fast as you are in, if not this could lead to unimaginable consequences that cannot be reversed - George was having an underwear sale...? Do not, we repeat, do not impulse buy.

Probably a good idea to keep the kids at home when you start your food shopping, you’ll probably end up paying for food they’ve sneaked in the trolley when you were busy debating which Christmas pudding has the most brandy, or be whinged at to buy everything in the supermarket other than the stuff you actually need.

It’s a good idea to start buying the stuff that will keep as soon as possible, crackers, tins, biscuits, frozen supplies (you should probably defrost your freezer too) and buy your alcohol if you can trust that you won’t drink it all before Christmas Day.

But put the thought of calories and weight to the back of your mind and indulge at this festive time of the year.

The sooner you get this out of the way, the sooner you can relax and start to enjoy Christmas. Remember when Christmas used to be fun?
