The year is well and truly underway, with some incredible video games already making their way to gamers through January. February looks to be no different, with some top-tier titles finally becoming available for purchase. Here are our top six February 2021 video game releases that we can’t wait to play…

Control Ultimate Edition

Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5

Release date: February 2nd, 2021

After its initial release back in August 2019 and upon receiving multiple awards and nominations, Remedy Entertainment are rereleasing their critically-acclaimed action-adventure game Control, with Control Ultimate Edition. Coming immediately to PS Plus as part of their February line-up, those who have already enjoyed what the game has to offer are intrigued to see what it’ll be like in next-gen, whilst those new to the title are exciting to finally jump in.

Taking advantage of the power behind Sony and Microsoft's new consoles, Control Ultimate Edition claims to offer greatly-improved load times, improved frame rates, higher resolution and support for platform-specific features. This includes the option of both Performance Mode (targeting 60fps performance with 1440p render resolution and 4K output); and Graphics Mode (targeting 30fps performance with ray tracing at 1440p render resolution and 4K output).

It’s gonna be one heck of an experience!

Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood

Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC

Release date: February 4th, 2021

Based on White Wolf Publishing's tabletop role-playing game of the same name, Werewolf: The Apocalypse is part of the larger World of Darkness series, developed by Cyanide and published by Nacon.

Played in third-person, the game sees players take on the role of eco-terrorist werewolf, Cahal. Banished from his tribe, he fights against the Pentex corporation and their pollution, traversing the American Northwest and shapeshifting to perform various tasks.

Of course, managing the personality of a werewolf can be quite the challenge, and keeping the character’s rage in check will be one of the most important things as players go through this unique adventure!

The Nioh Collection

Platform: PlayStation 5

Release date: February 5th, 2021

Launched to celebrate the franchise's four-year anniversary, remastered editions of both Nioh games will be packaged together for PlayStation 5, featuring 4K and up to 120FPS support.

Speaking in a PlayStation blog post, Team Ninja's creative director Tom Lee explained: "As a token of our appreciation, we thought there was no better way to celebrate the Nioh series, one very near and dear to our hearts, than remastering the entire story for both veterans and new players alike to enjoy utilising the latest hardware."

Little Nightmares II

Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch

Release date: February 11th, 2021

Following the huge success of the original game, Little Nightmares II brings Six back to our consoles, joining up with new character Mono as the pair venture out and coming across new dangers. It’s up to us as players to help guide them to safety once more, but with more challenging levels and puzzles than ever before, it’s not going to be as easy to claim success.

Making their way through a decaying metropolis, the two must avoid television-addicted citizens on their way to Signal Tower, confronting the mysterious Thin Man who influences the city with his transmissions.

Genuinely scary-looking, this could be one of the most talked-about video games of 2021!

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury

Nintendo Switch owners are able to team up with up to three other people in a bid to save the Sprixie Kingdom from the clutches of Bowser!
