Beautiful landscapes and fierce warriors are at the heart of the brand new Far Cry Primal reveal trailer, which sees a group of hunters succeed in their attempts to take down a woolly mammoth before being attacked by a Saber-Tooth Tiger.

Promotion for the new title reads: "The award-winning Far Cry franchise that stormed the tropics and the Himalayas now enters the original fight for humanity's survival with its innovative open-world sandbox gameplay, bringing together massive beasts, breathtaking environments, and unpredictable savage encounters."

Gamers will take on the role of Takkar, a "seasoned hunter and the last surviving member of his hunting group", who arrives in the "majestic and savage land of Oros". The main theme running throughout the game will be survival, as humans become the prey, meeting a "cast of memorable characters who will help them push back and tame the dangers of the wild."

Far Cry Primal comes to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 23, 2016, and will come to PC at some point in March 2016.
