Home and Garden on Female First

The epitome of class, Anna's interiors are the ultimate in uniquely designed space, with her meticulous attention to detail, and flair for completely individual style. Her interiors designs are high end, from hotels to homes. Anna has put together her top tips for Female First on how to bring a glamorous yet affordable touch to any room.

1) Personal touch is a must! Using glamorous fabrics, curtains and cushions that you love can add individuality and make the room look like a jewel!

2) Accessories will totally change the feel of a room. You can make a room look softer or formal by using different accessories such as tassels, vases and flowers.

3) Ensuring the room is clean and tidy is essential, always remember less is more. Try to keep souvenirs to a minimum and never have clutter on shelves! I limit the amount of objects around my room to a select few that are eye-catching.

4) Colour concept should always be in one tone for example ivory. Shades and shapes should be clean and elegant to add to the glamour.

5) Mirror, mirror on the wall! Not only do mirrors make the room look larger and brighter, they also can add lots of glamour.

6) Use gold or silver, it doesn't matter which one, but as long as it’s shiny and used in a tasteful way! Don’t overdo it by drowning a room with too much.

7) Custom-made pieces are always very popular, they represent the personality of the owners and a touch of chic will be added.

8) Lighting is my favourite scene maker as it allows you to change the atmosphere easily. You can highlight objects for example your beautiful curtains or just make the whole room bright and wide giving a very open feel.

9) For finishes on furniture and other details, I would use shiny and lacquered. It exudes a sense of quality and is great to touch.

10) Always try to add art or sculptures to a room to make it have a soul and add individuality.
