Get your brows done in March to support the campaign

Benefit have announced the launch of their first annual Brow Arch March, an initiative designed to raise vital funds and awareness for women who are challenged by the visible side effects of cancer treatment.

They are working with Debenhams and Look Good Feel Better on the campaign.

Throughout the month of March, Benefit ‘Brow Bars’ – located in 50 Debenhams stores across the country – will be offering a complimentary brow arch service (worth £11.50) for a requested minimum donation of £5, with all proceeds going directly to Look Good Feel Better.

Supporting the campaign is actress Kara Tointon, who will be raising awareness of the initiative by calling women of all ages to rally together and join her on a fundraising March through the streets of central London on 9th March and across the UK to book their free treatment.

The March, starting and finishing in Berkeley Square Gardens, will take walkers, dubbed ‘Arch Angels’, past London’s most iconic arches including Marble Arch. As well as taking in the historical sights, participants will be encouraged to start with minimal makeup, stopping at checkpoints throughout the route to receive beauty ‘touch-ups’ to their lips, eyes, cheeks and of course, eyebrows, courtesy of Benefit Cosmetics.

Kara says: “The fantastic work that Look Good Feel Better undertakes for the wellbeing and self-confidence of women struggling with the visible side effects of cancer treatment is truly amazing. Sadly, cancer affects the lives of so many people and the charity plays such an important part in helping to regain a sense of control and normality. I’ll be leading the March on Sunday 9th March and would encourage you all to join me - it’s so easy to make a huge difference! Just register to enter at www.justgiving.com/BrowArchMarch and www.browarchmarch.com and I’ll see you on the start line!”

As the only international cancer support charity, Look Good Feel Better’s skincare and make-up workshops focus on the problems associated with the visible side effects of cancer treatment and how hard loss of hair, eyebrows, eyelashes and other skin related issues can be to cope with.

Sarahjane Robertson, Executive Director of Look Good Feel Better, says “Drawing on a natural looking brow is one of the most valuable skills we show people in our Workshops and Masterclasses.  With sparse or missing brows and lashes you lose all forms of reference to your face and putting them back helps people ‘find’ themselves again. In our 20th anniversary year we’re urging everyone to get involved with the Brow Arch March, whether that’s joining us on the 9th March or by visiting one of Benefit’s ‘Brow Bars’ throughout the month of March. Every donation, large or small, will make a huge difference!”

Benefit Cosmetics Managing Directors, Ian Marshall & Gail Bojarski explain that the aim is to make a lasting impact on women’s health and beauty, with the first annual Brow Arch March.

“For more than three decades, Benefit has been responsible for shaping millions of brow arches across the globe. This year, working in partnership with ‘Look Good Feel Better’ and our friends at Debenhams; we are gearing up for our biggest effort yet – we guess you could call it the gals answer to ‘Movember’!”

They continue, “Here at Benefit, our priority is to make women look and feel great, a philosophy which is integral to the work Look Good Feel Better constantly strive for and achieve. Together, we’re encouraging women from all over the UK to give and get gorgeous throughout the month of March, and to have the support of Kara Tointon is just fantastic.”

A dedicated website (www.browarchmarch.com) is now live and provides all the information on Brow Arch March and how to get involved including registering to take part in the campaign.
