What's your skin routine?

What's your skin routine?

When you think skin exfoliators your mind is typically driven to grainy face washes that help to remove dead skin cells, but thanks to a consultation with a facial-ist my skin was opened up to a new skin exfoliator.

Since I can remember I have used grainy substances, usually one a week to rid my skin of the dead stuff and make way for the new stuff to come through, like a lot of people most probably.

A trip to the award winning salon, Face It, in Highgate London and a consultation with skincare expert Donna Glazer changed my beauty routine for the better.

After years of reading different magazine articles, all advising different things for spot prone skin, Donna explained it quite plainly, that it was wrong.

Soft and gentle cleansing milks are the best thing I could use, to help remove make-up and keep the skin calm. But more importantly that it was time to through away the ‘old’ skin exfoliators.

Glycolic acid is the ingredient that we need to keep our eyes peeled for, whether it’s in an exfoliating toner, exfoliating gel or peel mask, glycolic acid will help to remove dead skin cells and promote new healthy and more importantly clear skin.

If you suffer from red marks left from spots products containing this ingredient are a must as they’ll help to regenerate new skin that’s clear.

The one exfoliating product that has to be mentioned is the Ginvera Green Tea Exfoliating Marvel Gel, this stuff is actually amazing. It’s not abrasive my any means, but after one use your skin is instantly refreshed and left feeling clean.

For 16 years this has been the best seller in Asia, and it’s easy to see why: it removes blackheads, removes dead skin gently to reveal a brighter complexion, evens out skin tone and helps to fade pigmentation and it deeply cleanses pores to help reduce the appearance of blemishes.

If you’ve never tried this before, now is definitely the time to start.

A facial peel mask also helps to reinvigorate skin cells and promote brighter and clear skin, read about the Murad Intensive C mask here.

Clarins Exfoliating Toner and the Alpha-H Liquid Gold are two products that should definitely not be overlooked in terms of exfoliating and regenerating skin cells.

It’s time to forget the past and look to the future when it comes to skin exfoliators.
