Alexa Chung and her awards

Alexa Chung showcased just why she was the winner of the British Style Award brought to you by Vodafone last night in her beautiful black embroidered dress.

The fashionista won the award, the only one to be voted for by the public, for the third year running for her dedication and inspirational efforts to British style

On winning the award, Alexa said: “Thank you so much, it's really lovely to win this again, I’m so nervous again, hatrick! I live in New York now and often get very homesick so it's nice to know that people still remember me. Thank you so much to everyone who voted, it's such an honour.”

Alexa beat nominees including Cara Delevingne, David Gandy, Florence Welch, Rosie Huntingnton-Whiteley and Victoria Beckham amongst others to collect what will be her third British Style Award.

For the big evening Alexa chose a Simone Rocha Spring 2013 black embroidered dress.

She dressed up the simple dress with Nicholas Kirkwood embroidered mesh booties and a top-handle black bag.

In the images we can see that she wore a ponytail with loose tendrils, but on arrival she let her wavy tresses fall around her shoulders - I prefer the ponytail, it's something different from her.

Simple Alexa make-up finished this beautiful look.

Do you think Alexa is a deservant winner of this award?
