Actress Ellie Bamber is new to the scene, having just won acclaim for her role in Tom Ford's Nocturnal Animals. But the 19-year-old brought some vintage glamour to the red carpet in a stunning Chanel gown.

The gown featured a Bardot neckline and mixed black and grey tulle to give it a modern look, while still taking inspiration from the fifties. The actress added to her vintage vibe by wearing her long red hair in loose curls.

Thandie Newton chose a black, embellished Erdem gown that came complete with an ultra glamorous train. The floor-length dress combined a halterneck with this season’s favourite trend the ‘cold shoulder’, giving it an elegant, yet youthful feel.

Newton kept her accessories to a minimum, choosing a simple pair of stud earrings and wearing her hair in a chic bun.

Emma Watson

Emma Watson received the Woman of the Year honour at the ceremony and chose a striking illustrated Dior gown. The strapless, ivory dress was designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri for her debut collection for the fashion house, and is named the ‘Tarot’ gown.

It features hand painted, embroidered tarot motifs including a sun, stars, a tree and a pair of hands. The actress let the dress speak for itself on the red carpet, opting for minimal makeup, no accessories and a loose up do.

‘Poldark’ star Eleanor Tomlinson, went for something different on the red carpet, ditching the gowns for a crop top and matching skirt by Emilia Wickstead. The set allowed Tomlinson to show off her toned midriff, while still staying red carpet chic, thanks to its delicate floral pattern and princess-like full skirt.
