Wear red on February 7 to help support the fight against heart disease

Mollie King looks stylish in red as she encourages us to as red as they dare on February 7.

The Saturday’s singer is the celebrity face of the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Ramp up the Red campaign, which wants us to wear red to show support in the fight against heart disease.

Hopefully we’ll look as stylish as Mollie does in our red outfits.

Mollie says: “I’m so excited to be supporting the BHF on 7th February by Ramping up the Red and joining the fight against the UK’s single biggest killer, coronary heart disease. Whether it’s wearing some red make-up, donning some striking scarlet red trousers, a traffic-stopping little red dress or painting your nails a racy red shade, join me and go as red as you dare on the day.

“By organising a Ramp up the Red party with friends, families and colleagues, you will be raising funds that will go directly towards vital research, support and care to help mums, dads, grandparents or babies born with heart problems.”

Coronary heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer.  It kills nearly one in six men and more than one in ten women and is responsible for almost 74,000 deaths in the UK each year, an average of 200 people each day. There are currently 2.3 million people in the UK living with coronary heart disease.

Mollie added: “It’s so easy to organise and you’ll be helping the BHF to continue to fund life-saving heart research in the UK to help everybody who suffers from a heart problem. It is a cause that is particularly important to me, as my grandfather sadly passed away after suffering a heart attack when I was younger.”

To get involved with Ramp up the Red, simply encourage your colleagues, friends or pupils to go red for a day. Anything goes, as long as it’s red.

The BHF is the biggest funder of life-saving heart research in the UK, helping everybody who suffers from a heart problem. This research has already made medical history but funds are urgently needed to fund further research.

Help mums, dads, grandparents or babies born with heart problems by Ramping up the Red for the BHF on Friday, 7 February and join the fight for every heartbeat.
