It’s one of the most iconic schools in British literary history, and now the legendary crests of Hogwarts, setting of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series, and the school’s four houses are set to be immortalised on Royal Mail Smilers® stamps.

Available from 17 July 2007, fans of the classic series will be able to combine their own photo with a choice of crest from Hogwarts and its four famous houses. These feature Harry’s own house and bastion of integrity Gryffindor, as well as Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and the occasionally nefarious Slytherin.

Issued just ahead of the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows™, the seventh and final Harry Potter book, Royal Mail is proud to commemorate and celebrate a true British literary phenomenon with these exciting Smilers® stamps.

Julietta Edgar, Head of Special Stamps, Royal Mail, said: “Royal Mail recognises the enormous popularity and impact of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series, and we’re delighted to celebrate this through these Smilers® stamps - a great way to add a little magic to your mail!”
