The British make-up artist - who launched her eponymous cosmetics brand in 2013, which has seen her name some of the products after celebrities - has admitted she is largely influenced by New York and her female muses, including Olivia Palermo, Gwyneth Paltrow and the catwalk icon Naomi Campbell.

The flame-haired beauty told PEOPLE: "I am very inspired by New York and uptown women who are also muses of mine, like Olivia Palermo, Gwyneth Paltrow and Naomi Campbell."

And Charlotte - who has sons Flynn and valentine from two separate marriages - has revealed people were surprised to see lip liners in her collection, because they were considered too "80s".

She explained: "When I first started [doing make-up], people were like, 'Lip liners? Oh my god, that's so '80s.'"

But the entrepreneur has revealed those who have followed her style advice and now wear lip liner "never" go back and consider it their must-have beauty product.

She added: "So many women who discover this lip liner never go back. It cheats your natural lip line and mimics the colour of your lips."

And Charlotte - who assisted fellow make-up artist Mary Greenwell when she was 11 years old - believes women should perfect their eye make-up and their lips before adding blusher, so not to go "overboard" with the contouring and colouring.

She said: "Once you have your eye and lip on, you can see how much colour you actually need on your face. So, you won't go overboard with the blush and end up looking like Aunt Sally!"

Meanwhile, Charlotte has admitted she has "always" worn make-up to bed, because it makes her feel "sexy".

Speaking previously about her beauty hacks, she said: "It's true. I always have a bedroom eye. I clean my skin, put my Magic Night Rescue Cream on, my Magic Eye Rescue, and then Wonderglow - it softens everything. But I take off all my eye makeup, and then I reapply it. I put on my eyeliner in Audrey, and then I put a little bit of mascara on my top lashes, and then that's it. I always say it's my bedroom eye because it just makes me feel sexy.

"Always. Always. Always. Forever."
