Dame Vivienne Westwood has confused the fashion world by claiming to be unaware of model Daisy Lowe despite hiring her for her catwalk shows.
The kooky designer was attending the launch of her son Ben’s exhibition ’Spawn: Bound’ on Friday night when she was overheard asking: "Who is Daisy Lowe?"
Westwood was being questioned on the subject of celebrity brats when she made the slip up, reports the sun.
Daisy, daughter of indie star Pearl Lowe and bad boy rocker Gavin Rossdale, hit the catwalk to show off Westwood's Red label Autumn/Winter 09 collection as recently as February this year.
The model, who briefly dated music producer Mark Ronson last year, was even heralded as a muse for the label.
The odd mix up leaves us wondering whether this was political activist Westwood's attempt at being ironic- or perhaps old age is finally hitting her!
Spawn:Bound will run at Bodhi Gallery, 214 Brick Lane, London, until 10th June 2009.
The exhibition features Stella McCartney bound by ties reading Paul McCartney, Peaches & Pixie Geldof are bound by Paula Yates and Bob Geldof, Lily Allen is tied by Keith Allen- you get the picture.
