Hermes

The Hermes rtw collection show cased on the runway reminiscent of a dressage show in a paddock, complete with giant crystal chandeliers overhead and delivered to stomping flamenco music

Setting the tone was whip-wielding Karlie Kloss in a harnessed black leather bustier catsuit and black shirt in what could only be described as a sexually charged opening to a swan song collection from Jean Paul Gaultier at Hermès.

Since his arrival at the luxury company in 2008, Gaultier has imposed his wild card signature on the fashion house while maintaining the rigor and soigné craftsmanship inherent to Hermès.

Back to the collection - smooth rounded jodhpur shapes, the collection was infused with a sexual tension - whip-style belts and reshaped Kelly purses strapped to the torso, and molded leather corsets harnessing the body.

But overall the collection spoke of classic lines with sleek soft fluid pantsuits, wrap-over white shirts. Leather was in abundance - apron skirts soft as silk, Top piece was a translucent croc-effect jacket accessorised with a matching Kelly bag, other looks had corduroy finishes on jackets that were almost cardigans.

The collection oozed 'sleek, chic', covetable and was received to rapturous applause as Gaultier stepped out in a cloud of red dust to take his final Hermes bow.
