Floral Prints

Floral Prints

I am not saying by any means start wearing dresses and bearing your midrift in those crop tops in the depths of January and February but it’s time to start planning your summer wardrobe and taking a look at the trends that will no doubt rock your wardrobe.

Floral prints are back again, already they are taking over our high street stores and the dark gothic prints we saw in winter will turn into bright ditzy prints that will make any day come alive.

Anyone can wear floral no matter what your body shape there is a style to compliment any shape. A word of warning, make sure you don’t wear two floral pieces at once you could end up looking like grandmas curtains and clashing.

Neutral Tones have been spotted all over the catwalk and with a bit of colour on your skin they will come alive, long flowing dresses and delicate slip tops look great paired with a pair of tailored trousers. This trend will look good in the office and could easily be converted into the night by adding a few more accessories and pulling out the high heels.

Nautical stripes are back this season and they are already flooding into high street stores. Stripes and gold buttons are everywhere to be seen, don’t fear the dreaded horizontal stripes and think they make you look wider (that is just a myth) wear with confidence and rest assure that they actually make you look slimmer.  Look our for trinket pieces of jewellery or bows that will set your look apart and will just add that extra something special to the outfit.

See through and sheer fabrics Designers everywhere are playing peek-a-boo cutting out sides of dresses, or adding a mesh panel to a top to make it stand out. This may not be your idea of fashion, but sheer lace bodies are bras will be everywhere this summer, and with the temperatures rising they will no doubt leave you feeling cooler.

Disco Fever took the fashion world by storm in autumn/winter 2009 and now its spreading to spring/summer 2010. This time stores are adding them into cropped jackets, skirts and jumpsuits to make sure they are suitable for summer. Don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd and dazzle everyone with a sequin skirt or leggings to take this look to the daytime why not add a sequin beret or headband just to add that extra touch.

Jumpsuits have been seen on the catwalk in the form of Lavin, Stella McCartney, RM Roland Mouret, Ralph Lauren and we will see a new twist added to the original with sequins and tie waist being brought in to keep your shape. For a daytime look go for a floral playsuit with sandals or flip flops and to convert into the night add heels to give you those extra inches on your legs.

2010 is set to be amazing for fashion with designers  collaborating more and more with high street chains us fashion slaves will get the chance once again to buy key designer pieces at half the price.
