How much will you be updating your wardrobe this year?

It may just be the start of 2014 but we're already thinking about our wardrobe for the year ahead, and the events we're going to be needing new outfits for.

As our diaries fill up with exciting events, new research has revealed that the average UK woman plans on buying an additional 12 dresses in 2014 to revamp her wardrobe, to wear to a total of 24 events.

Purchasing 12 dresses a year, women claim this integral piece is the one in their wardrobe that makes them feel fabulous, confident and sexy.

But finding a perfect dress appears to be no easy job. Women try on an average of five garments each time, and for almost a quarter, 10 items before they find ‘the one’.

To help women combat this issue, isme.com’s pioneering ‘cut to fit’ range, Savoir, has introduced a brand new feature called ‘Check My Size’, which has been specifically designed to cater for the changing shape of women as they approach 50. Research conducted by isme.com revealed that the most common body shape for this age group is the ‘rectangle’ but that only one in 10 could correctly identify their shape. The ‘Check My Size’ tool addresses this problem by asking women to input their measurements to help them buy a quality dress, created exactly to suit their shape and size, so they’ll know every piece fits before they order, helping them to make the perfect choice each and every time.

Carol Vorderman, isme.com Brand Ambassador commented:

“Finding a dress that makes you feel fabulous is always a challenge; isme.com offer a stunning collection of Savoir dresses specifically cut to fit and flatter, in styles that suit women of all sizes and shapes – which helps me create my perfect wardrobe!”

At a cost of £49.05 a time, women will spend £38,023.56 on dresses over a typical adult lifetime of 64.6 years. With each dress being worn eight times however, the cost per wear is just £6.13 - cheaper than most other pick-me-ups.

Jon Owen, Retail Director at isme.com commented: “With the New Year in full swing, often women want to revamp their wardrobes and set some new style goals. Savoir’s new season offerings allow our customers to do just that, with dresses to flatter every style for every budget. With our pioneering Check My Size tool, women can buy with the confidence that their new purchase will fit them perfectly and make them look and feel great. Investing in a good dress they can wear time and again is also important, and Savoir has a stylish range of quality dresses that will transcend many seasons.”
