Django Unchained

Django Unchained

A Quentin Tarantino movie is always something to get excited about because you are never quite sure what you are going to get... but Django Unchained is packed with early promise.

I know we are weeks away from 2013 but that doesn't mean that we can't get excited about the movies that are on the horizon and Django Unchained is one of them.

Tarantino is back in the director's chair for the first time since Inglourious Basterds and he has brought together a plethora of Oscar winning and Oscar nominated talent.

And we have the new trailer from the movie for you to take a look at:

Oscar winner Jamie Foxx leads the cast as Django while Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L Jackson, Kerry Washington and Don Johnson are all on board.

The movie also sees Christoph Waltz reunite with Tarantino for the first time since he won his Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his fantastic turn in Inglourious Basterds.

And more Oscar success could be heading the way of a Tarantino project as this movie is already being tipped as a possible Best Picture contender.

Set in the South two years before the Civil War, Django Unchained follows Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Waltz).

Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles - dead or alive.

Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side.

Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.

There are a whole host of great movies on the horizon in the new year making the first few months of 2013 an exciting one for movie lovers.

But Django Unchained promises to be on of the early movies that is not to be missed.

Django Unchained is released 18th January
