Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Family movies provide some of the most unique and popular big screen memories and more and more movies are being mafe with family viewing in mind.

Monsters vs Aliens is currently top of the UK box office and Pixar and Dreamworks are cpnstantly going head to head to produce some of the best animation movies.

And it seems that Harry Potter has once again worked his magic on film fans with new research conducted by Oreo voting the scene in which he finds Platform 9 and ¾ - as the best moment in family movie history.

More than 2,000 family members[2] were involved in the poll, commissioned on behalf of the Oreo Family Movies campaign, which uncovered a list of the top ten favourite film moments of all time as voted by British families.

The boy wizard’s discovery at King’s Cross station narrowly beat the scene from Mary Poppins featuring the chimney sweep rooftop dance.

However there were three entries for Mary Poppins in the chart, proving that it is still one of the most popular family movies over forty years after it was first released.

Along with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Pixar's Toy Story and Finding Nemo were the more recent movies that made the list.
