Hugo

Hugo

We have not seen a Martin Scorsese feature film grace the big screen since Shutter Island last year - but this winter marks his return with Hugo.

As you may imagine actors have fallen over themselves to work with the Oscar winning director, and totally legend, and he has assembled a very impressive cast.

Young talent such as Chloe Moretz and Asa Butterfield will mix with the likes of Jude Law, Christopher Lee and Emily Mortimer - while the movie reunites the director with Ben Kingsley and Ray Winstone.

Hugo will be the first foray into the world of 3D for director Scorsese as he brings the Brian Selznick's novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret to life.

Hugo tells the story of an orphan boy living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station.

With the help of an eccentric girl, he searches for the answer to a mystery linking the father he recently lost, the ill-tempered toy shop owner living below him and a heart shaped lock, seemingly without a key.

A Martin Scorsese movie is always something that we should be super excited about but this family drama is something that we haven't seen for the filmmaker before.

Hugo is set to be one of those magical movies that light up the big screen over the Christmas period - and, I have to say. it's one that I am very much looking forward to.

The film will make a star of Buttefield as well as show off the talent of Moretz once more as she takes on something completely different from Kick Ass and Let Me In.

Scorsese is one of the best filmmakers that has ever graced big screen and, despite the fact that he has achieved everything, he is still trying new things and tackling new genres!

Hugo is released 2nd December.
