Steven Spielberg
No list of celebrated Hollywood directors would be complete without listing the legendary Steven Spielberg. The Oscar winning director has had a long and prosperous career, and there is no stop in sight!
In fact his latest film War Horse earned Spielberg yet another Oscar nomination for best picture.

War Horse (2011)
War Horse is Spielberg’s most recent epic thriller to add to his repertoire of impressive historical films.
The film about a young boy and his horse during World War I, earned an Academy Award nomination for best picture, and has gained much praise from audiences across the globe.

Jaws (1975)
Known as Spielberg’s first masterpiece, Jaws, became an instant cult classic and a must see for any movie lover.
Jaws also ushered in an age of blockbusters and paved the way for what is now known as 'summer blockbuster' season.
This film certainly opened the gates for a long and prosperous career for Spielberg.

Schindler’s List (1993)
Spielberg won his first ever Academy Award in the category of Best Director for his work on Schindler’s List.
That year the film also won the Academy Award for Best Picture. Germany awarded Spielberg with the Federal Cross of Merit award in 1998 in recognition for his work in Schindler’s List and with his Shoa Foundation.

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
Spielberg’s career cannot go without mentioning E.T. Generations of movie goers continue to experience the film and will remember it as one of Spielberg’s greatest legacies to the film industry.
The film was a family affair as Spielberg’s god-daughter, Drew Barrymore, received her big break following this acting debut.
