The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists

The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists

Aardman Animations have brought us movies treats such as Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run and this week they are back with their new movie...  The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists.

The animation giants are famous for creating fabulous and entertaining characters and it looks like that trend is going to continue as we are introduced to the Pirate Captain, voiced by Hugh Grant.

And if you can't wait to see the movie at the cinema this weekend then we have a handful of clips that you can take a peak at:

Hugh Grant is not the only famous voice on the cast list as the likes of David Tennant, Martin Freeman, Brendan Gleeson, Russell Tovey, and Ashley Jensen all on board.

The movie is based on the first two books from Gideon Defoe's The Pirates! series while Peter Lord, who has worked with Aardman Animation for many years.

In The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists, Hugh Grant stars in his first animated role as the luxuriantly bearded Pirate Captain - a boundlessly enthusiastic, if somewhat less-than-successful, terror of the High Seas.

With a rag-tag crew at his side (Freeman, Gleeson, Tovey, and Jensen), and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter rivals Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven) and Cutlass Liz (Salma Hayek) to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award.

It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London.

Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria (Imelda Staunton) and team up with a young Charles Darwin (David Tennant), but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!

The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists is released 28th March
