Kit Harington in Pompeii

Kit Harington in Pompeii

Pompeii tells the epic story of a slave turned- gladiator Milo (Kit Harrington) who finds himself in a race against time to save his true love, Cassia (Emily Browning).

Unfortunately, she has already been promised to a corrupt Roman Senator, Corvus (Keifer Sutherland). Milo must fight to save the love of his life whilst Mount Vesuvius explodes, and Pompeii crumbles around him.

We know the volcano is hot, but I think we can all agree that the hottest part of Pompeii is Kit Harrington and his newly found abs.

To celebrate the DVD & Blu-ray release of the biggest action movie of the year, Pompeii, we have most definitely enjoyed finding our top hottest fighters from our favourite films!

- Kit Harrington - Pompeii

Kit Harrington takes on the central role of Milo in Pompeii, which sees him team up with Paul W.S. Anderson.

Pompeii marked the biggest film that Harington had starred in, and this was his first lead role. And, as you can see, he worked hard to get into shape for the movie.

- Gerard Butler - 300

"This is Sparta!" is the quote that will follow Gerard Butler as he roared into battle in 300 back in 2006.

Butler took on the role of King Leonidas alongside the equally scantily clad David Wenham, Vincent Regan, and Michael Fassbender. Seven years on, 300 is still a terrific film and a great watch.

- Brad Pitt - Troy

Hard to believe, but Troy was released back in 2004 and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

Directed by Wolfgang Petersen, the movie saw Brad Pitt take on the role of Achilles as the Greek forces attack and try to take Troy.

Pitt spent six months sword training before shooting the film, where he rather ironically injured his Achilles tendon during filming.

- Russell Crowe - Gladiator

Russell Crowe took on the role of Aelius Maximus Decimus Meridius in Gladiator as he teamed up with director Ridley Scott.

The movie follows the former Roman general as he seeks revenge for the murder of his family.

Gladiator remains Crowe's most famous role, and the part for which he received his Best Actor Oscar.

- Channing Tatum - The Eagle

In 2011, The Eagle hit the big screen and was an adaptation of the novel The Eagle of the Ninth by Rosemary Sutcliff.

Kevin Macdonald was the director's chair while Channing Tatum played young Roman centurion Marcus Flavius Aquila.

The movie follows Aquila as he sets off to find the long eagle of the ninth and restore his father and family's honour.

- Henry Cavill - Immortals

Henry Cavill has seen his star rocket in recent years, and Immortals was one of his big breakthrough roles.

Directed by Tarsem Singh, Immortals saw Cavill took on the central role of Theseus: a mortal chosen by Zeus to fight evil.

The mythological blockbuster brought together a great cast and saw Cavill in great shape to fulfil his destiny.

- Jake Gyllenhal - The Prince of Persia

We haven't seen Jake Gyllenhaal in too many blockbusters, but Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is one of them.

Released back in 2010, Prince of Persia was based on the hit computer game and saw Gyllenhaal take on the central role of Prince Dastan.

The movie may not have been the best, by Gyllenhaal looks fantastic - he clearly worked hard to get in shape.

- Sam Worthington - Clash of the Titans

Sam Worthington is another actor who has seen his star rocket in recent years, and the remake of Clash of the Titans certainly helped him on his way.

Worthington took on the role of Perseus, the mortal son of Zeus who must do battle with the underworld.

The costumes did get some laughs from the crew during filming, but Worthington looks great in a leather skirt.

Pompeii is released on DVD & Blu-Ray 15th September.
