The Amazing Spider Man 2 is the summer 2014 movie that everyone is talking about, as Andrew Garfield is set to return to the title role.

And 2014 is set to get off with a bang as Stan Lee introduces an explosive new trailer for the film - a trailer that sees Spider Man doing battle in New York with Electro.

Electro is an exciting new addition to the franchise, and will see Jamie Foxx take on the role for the very first time.

This new trailer will see Electro in action as we see him really unleash his power:

The Amazing Spider Man 2 will see Marc Webb return to the director's chair as he looks to carry on the success of 2012's The Amazing Spider Man - a movie that went on to gross in excess of $752 million at the global box office.

Webb has assembled another fine cast list as Garfield and Foxx are joined by a mix of familiar and new faces: Emma Stone, Sally Field, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan, Martin Sheen and Chris Cooper are all on board.

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man.

But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone).

But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city.

With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

We have a whole host of superhero movies heading our way this summer, but The Amazing Spider Man 2 looks set to be a movie not to miss.

The Amazing Spider Man 2 is released 18th April.
