Avatar spends a month at the top of the Australian box office.
The sci-fi epic has taken a further $8.3 million at the Aussie box office this week and has so far grossed $1.3 billion globally.
The movie is now the second biggest grossing film of all time and it’s James Cameron’s Titanic that stands in front of it.
It’s Complicated enjoyed further box office success at it opened at number two. The movie and Meryl Streep’s performance have been nominated for Golden Globes.
Sherlock Holmes fell one place from two to three. There were also one place shifts for Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel and Old Dogs finishing the week at four and five.
It’s Complicated was the only new entry inside the top ten this week but The Princess and the Frog did move up one place from seven to six.
This week’s biggest faller came in the form of romantic comedy Did You Hear about The Morgans? Starring Hugh Grant and Jessica Parker.
