Avatar shows no sign of giving up the top spot at the UK box office anytime soon as it remains at number one.

James Cameron's sci-fi classic has now become the biggest grossing movie of all time, ending Titanic's twelve year reign, and it grossed at further £5.1 million this weekend.

Sherlock Holmes had another good week at the box office as it remained at number two and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel stayed at three.

George Clooney's Up In The Air moved up one place from five to four while It's Complicated dropped one place to round off the top five.

The first new entry came in at six in the form of Toy Story 2, which has been re-released in 3D. This movie follows in the footsteps of Toy Story, which was also re-released in cinemas last year.

The Book of Eli and Daybreakers both dropped one place to finish the week at seven and eight.

War drama Brothers, which brings together Tobey Maguire, Natalie Portman and Jake Gyllenhaal, was a new entry at nine while A Prophet was also new at ten.
