Christopher Nolan has reportedly drawn up a list of candidates to direct the new Superman movie.
The Dark Knight filmmaker has been brought on board the re-boot of the franchise to oversee proceedings rather than direct the David Goyer penned movie.
Last week it was believed that Hellboy filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro, who pulled out of The Hobbit earlier this summer, was offered the job of director but turned it down.
But it seems that Nolan has drawn up a list of five filmmakers; Tony Scott. Matt Reeves, Jonathan Liebesman, Zack Snyder and Duncan Jones.
Liebesman has just signed up to direct the second Clash of the Titans movie so it would seem that he is out of the running.
Snyder has just completed work on Sucker Punch, which is released next year, and is linked to a Xerxes project.
Reeves has remade Swedish movie Let The Right One In, called Let Me In, and rumours had connected him to a Cloverfield sequel.
Scott has finished Unstoppable with Denzel Washington while Duncan Jones, who gained critical acclaim for Moon, has also just completed a project in the form of Source Code.
Superman is scheduled for a 2012 release.
