Christopher Nolan is believed to be in negotiations to direct sci-fi film Interstellar.
The film would see him reunite with his script writing brother Jonathan once again for a project that would explore time travel and alternate dimensions.
Steven Spielberg had originally been linked to the movie but it now looks like Nolan with direct as well as produce the film.
Nolan was back in the director's chair last summer as he brought his Batman series to a close with The Dark Knight Rises.
It was his first Batman film since The Dark Knight back in 2008 and it was another billion dollar success for the director.
This summer he will serve as producer on Man of Steel as the Superman franchise is rebooted for 2013.
Talks for Nolan to take on Interstellar are on going.
