Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara will do the Stieg Larson novel The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo justice according to producer Soren Staermose.
David Fincher is helming an American remake of the Swedish movies, that thrust Noomi Rapace to fame, with Craig taking on the role of Mikael Blomkvist and Mara playing Lisbeth Salander.
Speaking to MSN movies Staermose said: "There's no doubt about that - Daniel is a great actor and very likeable, so we are super-confident.
And he has nothing but praise for Mara as this role is set to send her profile soaring.
"It is a big role, but she's a very good actress and she goes all the way," Soren continued.
"I saw her in The Social Network and thought she was incredible. She is much younger, and is going to do a faithful adaptation. She is extraordinary."
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is released 26th December
