Fame

Fame toppled Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs this weekend after just one week in the top spot.

Starring an unknown cast the film is an updated version of the 1980 musical, which centred on the students of the New York Academy of Performing Arts.

The film grossed £2.4 million in it's opening weekend and was one of just two movies to break through the £1 million barrier.

The other was Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, which fell one place to number two, grossed £1.4 million in it's second week of release.
