Two lucky teenagers have had their very own cinematic close up with some of world’s biggest movie stars when they were chosen to report from the red-carpet at the UK’s most prestigious film awards ceremony, the Orange BAFTA Film Awards, for FILMCLUB – the education charity and experts in films for young people.

In association with BAFTA, Zara, 15, and Aanisah, 14, joined seasoned reporters from BBC, ITV and Sky News on the red-carpet at London’s Royal Opera House, where stars including Colin Firth, Andrew Garfield, Helena Bonham Carter, Rupert Grint, J.K.Rowling, Emma Watson and Gemma Arterton attended the awards ceremony.

The FILMCLUB Young Ambassadors interviewed film alumni’s at the awards ceremony and were the only teenagers to be given access to interview the film stars who attended the glitzy event held at London’s Royal Opera House.

Zara said of her experience; “It was a really surreal but fun experience reporting for FILMCLUB for the BAFTA Awards.  I’ve seen all the stars on the big screen before but to see them and interview them in real life with all the flashing cameras on the red carpet was like the weirdest dream ever! I kept thinking I was going to wake up. It was crazy!”

Aanisah commented; “When we got to the Awards, it was so much fun walking up the red-carpet in a big gown! I enjoyed all of it, it was just so incredible to actually be there.

"My favourite interview was Jesse Eisenberg, he was so cute and nice! We asked him about why he took his role on in The Social Network and told us it was an amazing experience.”

FILMCLUB, the nationwide education charity, offers access to thousands of popular and classic films from around the world for young people and teachers to watch and discuss in their school film clubs.

The Young Ambassador scheme, which is part of the organisations Close Encounters programme, offers members a unique access and insight into life behind the camera, and enables young people to represent the charity at high profile film events.
