Julie Walters has revealed that she was close to tears when filming ended on Harry Potter.

The actress reprises the role of Molly Weasley in the final instalment of the franchise Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and she is sad to see it all come to an end.

Speaking to Hello the actress said: "It was sad. They were all little tots when we started and now they are great big blokes and girls.

"I felt very sad on the last day. Being part of such a huge phenomenon was amazing. It has meant that a whole generation of children recognise me now."

"Mind you, they don't always, because I wear a wig and padding in the films, which even Daniel Radcliffe didn't realise. I had to point out to him that it's all birdseed under my dress."

Deathly Hallows will be the first time we have seen Walters on the big screen since Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince as she has concentrated on TV work.

The actress has starred in A Short Stay In Switzerland and Mo, she was nominated for Best Actress at the TV Baftas winning for the latter.

But away from Harry potter she will be back on the big screen, at least her voice will, in animation movie Brave, which sees her world alongside Reese Witherspoon, Emma Thompson and Billy Connelly.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 will be released in November.
