Lindsay Lohan's trip to the Cannes Film Festival in France was worthwhile - she landed a movie job there.

The actress held talks with Japanese director Ryuhei Kitamura at Cannes and now she'll star in his upcoming horror movie Black Friday, which will be shot in 3D.

According to website BloodyDisgusting.com, the film follows a vigilante gang out to seek vengeance after a couple is viciously assaulted and murdered.

Kitamura's past movies have included Godzilla Final Wars and an adaptation of Clive Barker's The Midnight Meat Train, which starred Bradley Cooper and Vinnie Jones.

Lohan is trying to rebuild her acting career and hasn't been seen on the big screen since 2008 in Chapter 27.

But filmmaker Robert Rodriguez gave her a golden opportunity with his new movie Machete, which also stars Robert De Niro and Jessica Alba.
