Rooney Mara

Rooney Mara has revealed that she got really picky about her role after starring in The Social Network.

The actress starred in the David Fincher directed movie, which went on to be Oscar nominated, and it was to be a role that really announced her to the acting world.

She has made even more noise at the end of 2011 as she took on the role of Lisbeth Salander in Fincher's adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Speaking to The Associated Press the actress said: "It just felt different than anything else I had done. After that, I got really picky."

The actress continued: "I didn't work for a year. I didn't work until I got this part [in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo] because I was just trying to find something that I was really passionate about."

Her performance as the troubled Salander has earnt her a Best Actress Golden Globe nomination - the movie has also been met well by the critics.

There is talk that the second novel in the trilogy, The Girl Who Played With Fire, is set to also be adapted into a movie.

But Mara has Lawless in the pipeline.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is out now.
