Salma Hayek reveals that she is inspired by something her school teacher once said.

The actress plays a teacher in new comedy movie Here Comes The Boom and she admits that it was something a teacher said that has stayed with her her entire career and really inspired her to push herself forward.

Speaking to the Press Association the actress said: "I had one teacher in fifth grade who said something about 'pereza mental', which is mental laziness, and how it was a disease and you have to understand it and push yourself to learn.

"This stuck in my head and it has come in handy many times when I've become lazy - especially as you get older - about learning more and making yourself better."

Here Comes The Boom has enjoyed success at the U.S. box office as the actress reunites with Kevin James.

And the duo have also worked together on another project as they reprised their roles on Grown Ups 2.

Grown Ups hit the big screen back in 2010 but Hayek, James, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and Maria Bello are all back for the sequel.

Here Comes The Boom is out now.
