Spider Man

Spider-Man has been left hanging - the fourth film in the hit franchise has been stalled over a reported script issue.

An unnamed Sony studios source has confirmed production on Spider-Man 4, which was set to start next month (Feb10), has been put back.

Movie executives are refusing to alter the May, 2011 release date - but experts insist that will change.

A source tells Daily Variety, "I think making May is a real question. We will not start until we have it right. The feeling is we are not going to rush it to make the date."

Ironically, production on the Spider-Man musical was also stalled late last year (09) over alleged production and staging issues.

Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are returning to their roles as Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson while Sam Raimi returns to the director’s chair.

It’s believed that the director wants John Malkovich to take on the role of the villain while both Anne Hathaway and J.K. Simmons are rumoured to be linked to the project.
